FAQ/Ordering
Q. How did you come up
with your name?
A: If you've been
to my site over the last several years, you'll remember that I
started out making mother's and grandmother's bracelets, which
spelled out the names of their children. After more than five years
designing jewelry, I decided to forgo making the bracelets and
concentrate on my glass bead business. It was a difficult decision,
but I thoroughly enjoy working with hot glass, so I'm really excited
to concentrate on just one thing!
Q. I bought a bracelet
from you and it has broken, can you fix it?
A: Because I've
given up the bracelet designing portion of my business, I can't fix
your bracelets because I don't carry the supplies anymore. I
recommend you take it either to a jeweler and ask their opinion or
contact one of the other Mother Bracelet companies and ask if they
can fix a bracelet. Customized orders cannot be returned. Sorry, no
exceptions.
Q. How do I place my
order?
A: It's simple!
Just click the "Buy Now" button and that will take you directly to
Paypal, where you will purchase your beads. If by chance, two people
purchase the same set, then I'll contact the second buyer and ask
whether you want a remake (if possible) or a refund.
Q: Where do you ship
to?
A: I ship to the US
and Canada. If shipping happens to be more than what is on the
shopping cart, I'll contact you by email. I ship Priority Mail via
USPS with delivery confirmation.
Q: How are glass beads
made?
A: This is a very
simplistic answer but a glass rod (about the diameter of a pencil)
is placed into the flame of a torch. As the glass melts, it's
wrapped around a stainless steel mandrel. Once enough glass is on
the mandrel and the shape is to your liking, you begin the fun part
of decorating it with more glass, metals, enamels or frit. If you're
interested in taking a class, just
contact me!
Q:
How did you get started?
A: I was designing
jewelry when I stumbled across a glass bead making book at my local
library. I never knew you could manipulate glass this way and I was
intrigued! I researched it for several months before I decided to
take a class. After my first class I knew I was addicted! I've been
making beads since September 2000.
Q: Are you part of any
official organization?
A: I'm a member of
a local glass beadmaking group called the Houston Hotties. We meet
monthly for demos, bead exchanges and a good time! I'm also a member
of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers. I was elected
Regional Director in the summer of 2005 by members in five states.
